Blake Lively is something of a
fashion world darling. Donning appearances at New York, Paris, and Milan
fashion shows is a regular for this self-made style icon. “She’s just heaven,”
Anna Kendrick has recently divulged her love for Lively’s style; something I
think most fashionistas who monitor fashion would believe too.
Lively, who doesn’t have her own stylist, is a
huge icon on the fashion. She has recently become the new spokesperson for
L’Oreal and in the past year she was a muse for Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel,
Christian Louboutin, as well as being the face of Gucci. She has the “je ne sais quoi” quality. From her
bubbly personality, impeccable style, and enviable hair, she is one to watch.
Her style evolution began with Gossip Girl where she was introduced to labels
that we all wish we would have in our closet including Rag and Bone, Chanel,
Opening Ceremony, Marc Jacobs, and Mulberry just to name a few. Serena Van Der
Woodsen became a style “it girl" despite being a fictional character and her
style on screen emulated the style that Blake captured off screen. But the most
interesting part of Lively’s off-screen style is that she incorporates high and
low. She doesn’t believe that you have to always be wearing the most expensive
thing on the market to look your best. She is an avid buyer of the Gap t-shirts
and J-Brand jeans. I know I love to invest in jeans because I wear them so often,
so good quality jean such as J-Brand is a must. But for the higher end pieces,
there is always a look for less. I would describe her style as a bohemian with
a classic edge. She usually has very fun pieces with feathers, fringe, and
sequins yet there is an aspect of classic style with the shapes she chooses to
incorporate with the other style elements. I have compiled a “look for less”
that was inspired by Blake herself. While I personally emulate Lively in her
style, her advice which is something everyone should keep in mind with fashion
is “Dress in your own way. Wear what makes you feel comfortable, but stay
inspired.” I couldn’t agree more.
