2015 Oscars Red Carpet

Oscar Sunday is one of my favorite nights of the year. Not only is the Oscars a night to remember for its nominees regardless if they take home an actor or not, but it's also a chance for designers to show off some of their wonderful work on the for the world to see. I consider myself an avid red carpet enthusiast, and I share with excitement that the Oscar Red Carpet was 100% my favorite red carpet of the year so far.
Some red carpet trends I spotted consisted of bright reds and intricate beading. Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad, a couple of my absolute favorite designers, were well represented on the red carpet. Below are some of my favorite looks of the night and check out all the red carpet moments on E News here.

Giuilana Rancic, Dakota Johnson, Rosamund Pike

Anna Kendrick, Oprah, Jennifer Lopez (my best dressed pick)

Gwyneth Paltrow, Lupita Nyong'O, Jennifer Aniston

Emma Stone, Chrissy Teigen, America Ferrera
Jessica Chastain, Sienna Miller, Jamie Chung

Cate Blanchett, Margo Robbie, Kelly Rowland

2015 Grammys Red Carpet

Well, we are quite deep into the 2015 award season, and I hate to say it, but the Grammy's weren't too exciting for me this year. Nothing was too shocking: I got bored with almost all of the performances, and Kanye West pulled out all the stops to get as much attention as he could (He basically ruined Beck's moment when he won album of the year, just saying).

There were a lot of looks I loved, but also a lot of looks that were just, blah. Black and white ensembles were the most common themes of the night (Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, and Nicki Minaj to name a few). Personally, I'd say that Taylor Swift wins my nomination for best dressed (I prayed at night that she would show up wearing Elie Saab, which she did!) Here are some of my favorite looks:

Jhene Aiko, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry
HAIM, Gwen Stefani, Iggy Azalea

Kimberly Perry, Jessie J, Miranda Lambert

2015 Golden Globes Red Carpet

The 2015 Golden Globes aired this last Sunday, January 11th, featuring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as the show’s hosts. The hilarious duo hinted that this was the last year of their three year hosting streak. Some of the big winners included Boyhood, Birdman, and The Theory of Everything. On the red carpet, I noticed a lot of silvers, whites, and blues. Sparkles were a HUGE trend this year! After scrolling through endless amounts of photos, I narrowed it down to eighteen looks (which was a lot harder than it sounds):

Allison Williams, Anna Kendrick, Chrissy Teigan

Anna Faris, Sienna Miller, Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Emily Blunt, Rosamund Pike, Kate Hudson

Amy Adams, Katherine Heigl, Lupita Nyong'O

Ellie Kemper, Dakota Johnson,Kate Beckinsale

Julliane Moore, Lorde, Emma Stone

Looks to Ring in the New Year in Style

Let's face it, girls. When it comes to the holidays, sometimes it can be tough to pick out the perfect outfit. (Especially without breaking the bank!) But that's why I'm here to help. If you're looking for a little outfit inspiration for New Year's, then look no further. I've picked out three outfits, each with their own unique style, for whatever plans you have to ring in the New Year. The holiday season calls for lots of metallics, sequins, and all things shiny and sparkly. That's just what these outfits deliver, in varying degrees of course. Plus, each of the items in these outfits is $50 or less. (Sounds good already, right?) So here are my three outfit picks to start your year off right:

1. Outfit #1: Casual Chic

Oxblood Sweater ($27), Boyfriend Jeans ($30), Chelsea Boots ($40), Tote ($33), Hat ($49), Layered Necklace ($35)

If you plan to chill at home with your family or just hang out with a few friends for New Year's, then this is the ideal outfit for you. The whole idea is to look chic and to be comfortable while doing so. (Isn't that our ultimate struggle anyway?) An oversized oxblood sweater paired with some boyfriend jeans is a great match on their own. But add some Chelsea boots (a personal favorite), a cute hat, and some matching accessories, and your cozy evening look is complete.

2. Outfit #2: Subtle Shimmer

Sequined Top ($25), Leather Pants ($35), Heels ($20), Nail Polish ($15), Clutch ($50)

Let’s say you want to stand out at the party you're going to, without looking like a Christmas tree topper. Well, as the title suggests, this ensemble will add a subtle amount of shimmer without going overboard. I've chosen this amazing sequined top from H&M, which serves as the focal point for this outfit. Then I added some leather pants for an edgy look, along with nude heels to balance all the colors going on. The clutch and nail polish add an extra pop to the look, too. When you're wearing this outfit, you're sure to be the "shining star" of the party. (Pun intended.)

3. Outfit #3: Festive & Fab

Dress ($48), Booties ($45), Clutch ($38), Earrings ($28)

This is another look to try if you're heading out to a party on New Year's. If you're not big on leather pants, then you can never go wrong with a dress. This halter dress is a gorgeous metallic color; perfect for this time of year. I paired it with some peep-toe booties, and a sequined clutch. I also chose statement earrings, which polish off the look. Who says you can't look festive and chic at the same time?

So whether you plan on dressing up for a glamorous party or just for hanging with friends and family for New Year's, I hope these three outfits sparked your creativity. For whatever you plan on doing on New Year's: have fun, be safe, and be sure to look fabulous while doing it.

Autumn/ Winter Color 2014-2015

This season's color I have seen to be beige/caramel. Sure, some of the big brands will have their occasional pop of color and pattern, but the consistently present shade of light brown are to be found in almost all designers' sweaters, scarves, beanies, and corduroy pants.

It's pretty easy to unintentionally conform to this season's color. Many of the big brands-- BOSS, J. Crew, DSquared2, Paul Smith, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren-- featured beige/caramel in their Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 collections.

BOSS, J. Crew

DSquared2, Ralph Lauren

So it's not unusual to see this color in the windows of all major stores; try to incorporate beige/caramel into your wardrobe and you'll definitely be in the loop!
